(More customer reviews)I have never been much of an audiophile...close and play was fine for me in the 1970s, and when I bought my first Diskman, I thought that was the best sound I had ever heard...without extra speakers, amps, sub woofers, etc.
I use the computer's sound for a limited universe of needs:
-Error messages and the like
-Speaker phone
-listening to conference calls/webinars
-watching news reports
-YouTube videos (!)
-some music
-some other DVDs, video
So I don't have a great need for great sound. My priorities are (in order)
-space taken (no extra items)
-appearance
-ease of setup
-cost
-sound quality.
I use a sound bar beneath most of my Dell Desktops, which is adequate sound and is very compact. For one of my desktops at home (which uses a monitor that I can't find a soundbar for), I use the V7 speakers. With the exception of the space taken, I find them superior to the Dell speakers as far as general quality and performance. They do feel 'cheap', though, and tend to move around the desk a bit.
