I'm using this to connect a Tivo3 to my Sony Bravia, where the cables will be running through a wall, and without having to mount a plate.
(I can't use HDMI since there is a known HDMI handshake problem between these two devices, and in fact, between many HDMI devices! Using component video is about the same quality as HDMI, without the crappy HDMI authorization synchronization problem.)
To use this product, I needed to then also purchase the following two products:
1) $16.99 42188 RapidRun® Multimedia 12-pin Din (Blue) F/F Coupler
2) $27.99 42071 1.5ft RapidRun® RCA Component Video + Stereo Audio Flying Lead
Thus an expensive solution, but one which I'm hopeful will work well for my situation.
I got the two additional parts directly from the supplier since I could not find these on amazon right now.
