The detailed description on the product page is a very accurate reflection of this clock. The sound is great for an alarm clock. There's a dimmer button on the remote and on the top of the unit, so if you need to turn it all the way to off to sleep it's not a hassle to turn it back on when you wake up. The alarm starts out pretty quiet and gets progressively louder-you'd have to be a VERY hard sleeper for it not to wake you up. It also will play AND charge a 4th generation ipod without an adapter (there were no adapters in the box). The main functions of the clock are pretty easy to figure out, but you might need the instructions from the box to learn how to use all of them. Also, you do have to manually set time, but there is a handy switch on the back for daylight savings time. The battery backup takes 2 AA batteries, so you can use rechargeable ones. There's supposed to be a warning light that comes on when the batteries are low.

iHome and Harley Davidson have teamed up to bring you a Harley-themed iPod/iPhone speaker and alarm clock, for those who like to display their allegiance by their bedside, in their kitchen, or anywhere else where a little music and Harley style is needed. This cool little system allows you to wake and sleep to your iPod, iPhone, or even authentic Harley Davidson motorcycle sounds--that ought to do the trick! Your iPod/iPhone charges while docked, and a remote control is also thrown in.

Cool Harley Headlight Design The HDP66 features an eye-catching Harley Headlight design to house its speakers, with the middle "headlight" displaying the time and other info. That middle headlight also happens to house a subwoofer, for a little Harley rumble in a small package.
Play and Charge Your iPod/iPhone A Universal dock for iPod/iPhone lets you enjoy your tunes or use the alarm while your device charges. When you're ready to hit the pavement, your iPod/iPhone will be too.
Wake Up! The sound of a well-tuned Harley is a much-revered part of its mystique, and one thing is certain: it'll wake you up. The HDP66 gives you the option to wake to authentic Harley Davidson bike sounds. Of course, for something more gentle, you can wake to your favorite iPod/iPhone tunes.
A battery backup keeps your time and alarm settings even during power failures, and the alarm reset turns off the alarm and automatically sets it for the following day, so you never miss a beat. Additionally, iPod alarm backup means that if no audio is detected from your iPod, a buzzer will sound.
Fall Asleep The HDP66 has you covered on the other end of your day, as well. Sleep to your iPhone or iPod, with a selectable sleep timer with 90, 60, 30, or 15-minute countdowns. The adjustable sleep volume allows you to select a comfortable "sleep" volume level without affecting the alarm or listening volume levels
The sleep function gently decreases before shutting off entirely, to avoid startling you from sleep (ditto on the alarm, which gently gets louder, so you don't smash the alarm clock).
Easy to Use The HDP66 is a breeze to use, with simple time and volume adjustment, and a handy Daylight Savings Time switch to "spring forward" or "fall back" in a snap.
Auxiliary Input Use the HDP66's auxiliary line-in jack to connect external MP3 players, CD players, and other audio devices.
Remote Included Use the included remote to control your tunes from across the room.
